Clutter free wedding gifts
Whenever anyone in my family or circle of friends gets married I always buy the kitchen bin.
In these days of consumerism I like to give what you might call clutter free gifts.
In itself a kitchen bin isn't really very exciting and if all you did was just wrap it up, stick a bow on and and add a card then it would be a functional but unexceptional gift. Something that the bride and groom could use, and hopefully think about me as the donor, but really just an object that is necessary to keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
But do you know what? MY kitchen bins are so much more than just a bin. :-)
Now, it's perfectly possible that the engaged couple left their family home a while ago so you may need to revise this gift idea a little. But for a young couple setting up their first home there's a lot of things to think about.
Most of us take it for granted that there's washing up liquid in the cupboard under the sink, bathroom cleaner in the bathroom cabinet, bin bags in the drawer, toilet cleaner in the downstairs loo, a good supply of toilet roll on the shelf.
But if you are moving into your first home you probably don't have some of those things. If you're in an established home you just buy what needs replacing. But if you are just starting out you might have to buy all of them.
And the cost of them can add up really fast!
That's why the kitchen bins that I give as gifts are packed full of all those everyday things that you need to keep a home clean and stuff that you take for granted.
Here's a list that you can adapt or add to for your needs:
Bathroom and kitchen cleaner
Washing up liquid
Eco-friendly toilet cleaner
Descaler for the kettle
Black and brown shoe polish
I'm sure there are other things that I've missed but this is enough to get you started.
Whenever I've given this clutter free gift it's always been received with much appreciation.
